Bombshell Oyster Farm started in 2024 as we started searching for the perfect balance of innovation and sustainability. We sell a seasonal selection of Blue Point Oysters (Crassostrea Virginica) both locally and through our loyal, major distribution channels.

The Farm.

  • Our Purpose

    Our methods, rooted in a deep respect for nature, involve hand-harvesting and habitat restoration to create the highest quality oysters and a healthier ecosystem.

    We have a philosophy of balance—a balance of old techniques and new ones, of different traditions and innovations, and of passion and skill.

  • Our Environment

    Situated on 5 acres, and in an average water depth of 2-4’, the Farm is located East of Captree Island and North of Sexton Island. With restricted access to the site from boat navigation, our site is well protected from severe weather from the West & South, in non-navigable water, and has a bountiful flow from the Fire Island Inlet.

  • Our Style

    Our oysters are surface-cultured, meaning they’re grown in floating cages near the water’s surface. We first plant our seed suspended in the water column, where the most food is available, keeping them safe from predation and naturally tumbled. Once the oysters mature, they are transferred to our BOB lines where they will finish growing to produce hearty shells, ready to enjoy.
